Multiplex in Mohali Bus Stand

Saturday 3 September 2011

Bus stands would be the latest venues for modern multiplexes and glitzy shopping malls in Punjab. Realizing that most bus stands are usually located at prime locations in Chandigarh and other cities in Punjab and would be an attractive proposition for realtors, the Punjab Industrial Development Board (PIDB) has planned multi-storey structures, where the ground-floor would function as bus stand and the levels above would house showrooms, offices, restaurants and cinemas.

A deal with a leading chain of hotel will also be signed shortly to open a four-star hotel.
“We hope to generate Rs 150 crore from sales during the course of construction and Rs 200 crore is being arranged from bank loans. The rest, Rs 150 crore, will be invested by our company,” said Johar.
Construction of a three-storied basement has already begun.
According to the design, walls of the enclosed passenger concourse will have safety glass glazing so that movement of buses can be seen from inside. The passenger concourse will have remote censored glass doors in front of each bus bay.
